According to the school, Southeast Missouri State University is a comprehensive, regional university offering 200 areas of study with numerous national and international academic accreditations. Students study business, education, the health professions, liberal arts, science and technology and the visual and performing arts. Southeast is the only university in Missouri to have a separate campus dedicated to art, dance, music and theatre, drawing students from across the nation to study and perform here. \r\n\r\nWith more than 11,000 students, Southeast is an ideal size to take advantage of critical learning and extracurricular opportunities. Southeast has freshman class sizes averaging 25-35 students, and an overall student-faculty ratio of 18 to 1. \r\nA series of career proficiency checks are embedded into the curriculum to prepare students for a successful career search at the time of graduation. Internships and experiential learning are available in 100 percent of majors. \r\n\r\nStudy-abroad opportunities range from two-week to academic year study in a variety of countries. Located in Cape Girardeau, the largest city between St. Louis and Memphis, Southeast is a great place to live and learn in a college-friendly community. Students come from all over the United States and from more than 40 countries around the world. \r\n\r\nEleven residence halls and nine dining areas give students many lifestyle choices. Many consider our residence halls to be the best in Missouri.
