The Sisters of the Presentation of Mary founded Rivier College in 1933 to educate the daughters of mill workers in Nashua. Though coed today, the College still focuses on community service. Education and nursing are our largest majors, business serves management needs in this urban region, and our newest offering-criminal justice-will have the same commitment to community concerns. The College educates not only traditional resident students and commuters but also non-traditional students, who pursue graduate and undergraduate degrees in the evening. While service to community is at the center, the College insists on a strong liberal arts core that educates the whole person, including the spiritual dimension.
