MacMurray is a small Midwestern liberal arts college. We emphasize writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills for all our students. We have a long tradition of preparing students for service professions, including teaching, nursing, social work, and criminal justice. The presence in our town of the Illinois School for the Deaf is a major resource for our strong programs in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher Education and in Interpreter Training. A new undergraduate major in Student Personnel Services is among the first in the nation. We offer 12 intercollegiate sports in NCAA Division III, numerous clubs and organizations, and an active student government.
