The mission of the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts is to provide the best education in drawing, illustration, painting and sculpture through the study of the history, traditions and principles of the fine arts and the liberal arts, thereby establishing a comprehensive foundation for the development of the artist. The studio curriculum is centered around the study of nature and the human figure and reflects a deep respect for traditional forms of teaching, which have produced master artists through the ages.\r\n\r\nThe college, located in Old Lyme, CT, is surrounded by the natural beauty of Connecticut’s shoreline and offers the space and atmosphere that supports a devoted pursuit of the creative and academic experience. Old Lyme’s central location makes for easy travel to the surrounding artistic centers of New York City, Boston and New Haven.\r\n\r\nLyme Academy College also boasts an excellent visiting artists program; regular field trips to New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, New Haven and Providence; beautiful painting, drawing and sculpture studios with an abundance of natural north light; (also available – a digital studio, wood shop, casting studio and printmaking facilities) two exhibition galleries and independent senior studios.
