According to the school, Clark Atlanta University is located in the heart of downtown metro Atlanta. The University is a member of the Atlanta University Center. This consortium is the largest collection of black private higher education in the nation. The university is one of the only two black private universities classified by the Carnegie Foundation for the advancement of teaching as a doctoral research university.
