University of Rochester
Rochester believes that excellence requires freedom. In the Rochester Curriculum, students are free to select the courses that appeal to them most. There are no required subjects; students’ interests drive their education. Students major in either sciences and engineering, humanities, or social sciences and complete a cluster of at least three related courses in each of the other two areas. Because Rochester is among America’s smallest research universities, its students can do advanced studies and research in graduate courses in arts and science or any one of Rochester’s nationally ranked schools of engineering, medicine, nursing, music, education, and business.
