The University of Hawai’i at Hilo is a comprehensive, primarily baccalaureate granting institution offering a rigorous education in a caring and personalized atmosphere. The University is located on the east side of Hawai’i island, about 200 miles from Honolulu, in the city of Hilo. Hilo offers a moderate cost of living, beautiful environment, and a highly diverse low density population of about 45,000. \r\n\r\nThe University is set against the backdrop of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa, two of five volcanoes that form the big island of Hawai’i.
