According to the school, Southern Polytechnic State University, since its founding in 1948, has earned an exceptional academic reputation in the areas of technology, science, engineering and related fields. Through its four schools and one division: (1) the School of Architecture, Civil Engineering Technology, and Construction (2) the School of Computing and Software Engineering (3) the School of Engineering Technology and Management, (4) the School of Arts and Sciences, and (5) the Division of Engineering, SPSU offers students a wide variety of majors from Mechatronics Engineering to Biology to Computer Science to Computer Game Design and Development. The University’s Architecture program is the only nationally-accredited Bachelor of Architecture in the University System of Georgia.
