Moravian College and Moravian Theological Seminary

Moravian College, founded in 1742, is proud of its history as one of America’s oldest and most respected liberal arts colleges. Our students find a supportive environment here for self-discovery and academic achievement. Moravian encourages the complete college experience for mind, body, and spirit. Its Priscilla Payne Hurd Academic Complex features state-of-the-art educational technology. A new living and learning community residence hall was completed in August 2009 on Moravian’s Priscilla Payne Hurd campus in historic downtown Bethlehem, Pa. Academic conferences, student-faculty collaboration, the honors program, independent work, internships and field study, and service learning provide opportunities for students to undertake original research and creative projects. New academic programs include biochemistry, environmental studies (with science and policy tracks), German studies, and neuroscience. Students are eligible to study abroad for a semester or a year through more than 40 academic programs in over 30 locales or enroll in a six-week summer language program in Italy, Mexico, Spain, or Germany through the LVAIC consortium. Moravian faculty lead May term study tours abroad each year. The College’s Leadership Center promotes the development and exercise of student leadership qualities and skills, on and off campus. One-fourth of the students perform in Moravian’s music program, and one-third participate in intercollegiate athletics. The annual Vespers program, featuring the renowned Moravian College Choir, has been broadcast by NBC and CBS affiliates and local cable television. The robust varsity sports program, from football to tennis, has produced nationally ranked women’s softball and track teams and All-American student athletes in many sports. Moravian is a founding member of the Landmark Conference and plays football in the Centennial Conference.
