Hofstra University is a dynamic, private university where students succeedand study in 140 undergraduate and 150 graduate programs of study. The major divisions of the university provide students with a broad array of academic offerings: the Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the School of Communication, the Frank G. Faculty members are dedicated to excellence in teaching, scholarship and research, and many have been recognized with the nations highest honors, including membership in the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Fulbright and Guggenheim Fellowships, National Science Foundation and Nathional Endowment for the Humanities awards, and Emmy Awards.\r\n\r\nHofstra distinctive, 240-acre campus, a recognized arboretum, is located 25 miles from New York City. The campus features state-of-the art teaching facilities, including a new converged newsroom and multimedia classrooms, one of the most advanced academic trading rooms in the nation, six theaters and a rooftop observatory. The Hofstra libraries contain 1.2 million print volumes and provide 24/7 electronic access to more than 90,000 journals and electronic books. Additionally, there are 37 residence halls, 21 eateries, an Olympic-size swimming pool, and extensive athletic and recreational facilities.
