Earlham’s international character makes it special – so much so that the College was awarded the 2006 Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization by NAFSA: Association of International Educators. Internationalism is woven into the fabric of Earlham where classroom learning goes hand-in-hand with experiencing the diversity of the world. Ten percent of all Earlham students and 15 percent of the faculty are international in background. More than 70 percent of Earlham students and 60 percent of the faculty have participated in study off-campus. As a part of the College’s general education program, students complete an international diversity requirement, including proficiency in a second language. More than 200 courses throughout Earlham’s curriculum include international themes and content. During 2006-07 Earlham is celebrating the 50th anniversary of study overseas.
